MANGABANE – The SAPS arrested a 37-year-old man at Mangabane Village on October 10. According to the Burgersfort police spokesman, Const Victoria Maluleka the suspect was found with 112 grams of dagga. “We arrested an African male on possession of dagga. The suspect is currently in custody. More information will be made with regards to his court appearance,” said Maluleke.
The Burgersfort SAPS also recently arrested three men for the possession of unlicensed ammunition. “The police got the information from anonymous informers. They followed-up on the information and it led them to one of the shacks at Extension 10. On their arrival they found the trio with 70 live rounds of R5 ammunition.” According to the police, the suspects briefly appeared before the Burgersfort Magistrate’s Court on October 6. “They were denied bail and will appear again on October 23. Maluleke told GT News that they wanted to thank the local communities for assisting in fighting crime. “We also appeal to the communities to be informers of the police as the SAPS will reward those who assist in the fight against crime. Any person who is willing to be an anonymous informer, may approach any police officer he trusts.”
