GA-RIBA – Sboniso Youth Care Centre (SYCC), in partnership with Tubatse Sasko depot, is running a maths and science awareness campaign in local schools.
It started on September 6 at Sekabate Primary School and will be completed at Riba Primary School on October 18.
The campaign aims to educate pupils from as early as primary level about career paths, subjects streams and the importance of the wo subjects. According to Lefa Makgoga of SYCC, the learners were briefed about careers to follow when they complete their studies.
“We educated the pupils about different careers. We also asked science and maths related questions. We were impressed with the way the pupils solved the maths equations.”
Teachers as well as pupils were also handed hampers and goodies by the Sasko team.
The campaign will also be taken to high schools in the Tubatse circuit.
