BURGERSFORT – Only few people in Tubatse get opportunities to fly abroad. Learners from Highlands College enjoyed the luxury and the adventure of a lifetime when they recently toured to Berlin in Germany.

The learners spent 10 days at the majestic Tiergarten Hotel, they also travelled on the S-Bahn, the subway.

Speaking to Greater Tubatse News school principal Fatima Mahomed said the pupils learned how to use public transport to get to places of interest.
“A highlight of the trip was visiting Checkpoint Charlie on the now defunct Berlin Wall.
“Everything was extra expensive there. The children each had 300 euros spending money but it did not last because a can of Coke costs two euros (R32). A McDonalds meal cost up to R150,” added Mahomed.
