Massive manhunt launched after murder of Traffic and Safety Manager

Collins Baker, who was Traffic and Safety Manager at Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, has been shot and killed.


ELANDSKRAAL – Elandskraal police outside Marble Hall are still all out on a massive manhunt for armed suspects following the gruesome incident of murder and house robbery which occurred in Elandskraal in the early hours of Saturday 02 December 2017 at about 03:00.

Police said it was alleged that the 43 year-old victim, Collins Baker who was Traffic and Safety Manager at Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, was asleep together with his 40 year-old wife when unknown armed suspects broke into their house.

Police said the suspects then entered through the back window, pointed them with firearms and subsequently shot the man on the head, killing him instantly.

Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said the suspects ransacked the victim’s house and stole cash amount of money and one motor vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, which was later found abandoned some kilometers away from the house.

Ngoepe said the woman was not having visible injuries and was still recuperating in hospital.

“The suspects in this matter are still unknown and there is no arrest,” said Ngoepe.
